Who is blessed by God?

Those who:

– trust Him

“Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” Psalm 2:12

“…let all those rejoice, who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.
For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.” Psalm 5:10-12

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:1-6

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!” Psalm 84:10-11

The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:3-11

– refuse to conform to the world

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither…” Psalm 1:3

– walk as pilgrims headed for His Kingdom

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6

Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.” Psalm 84:5

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies…” Psalm 103:1-5

    All are blessed by God. Those who choose to recognize the blessing bestowed upon them suffer the consequences of trying to make something from nothing. God is love. And, since the blessings of God are the expressions of his perpetual, uncompromising and unconditional love…of which he is, then that would make for the only reality in which we live. Those who choose to believe there to be a reality other than Love….choose to yearn for headache, heartache, and misery…Which is hardly a blessing at all….BUT, since they have always sought such outcomes….well…their experience of headache, heartache, and misery is “the happiest they will ever be.” With so little willingness to accept the real blessing they have been from the very beginning at the hands of God, they never seem to understand nor appreciate the full breadth and width of their importance.

    So, this is the meaning behind the statement of always “setting the Lord before me.” If you are aware of your true beauty and magnificense…and choose to refuse to allow the lies of life to dominate…then always focusing “setting before you” the reality of your blessing will always bring your joy and joyful moments. For when you realize and recognize God made you great and not a sinner…you live to love the love you love to want to live always.
