The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

A PRAYER OF A CANCER PATIENT

A PRAYER FOR THE CANCER PATIENT

Heavenly Father,

I now have developed a disease which I have often feared. I am afraid. I am lonely. Questions seem to crowd my mind: Will I be cured? Will there be pain? How long will I live? How will my family handle this? I ask with all my heart that I be healed. But, if my healing is not in Your great plan, I trust You to be with me through it all. I trust You to give me peace, to let me live with hope, to relieve any pain, and to let me know Your presence. I trust You to bring my loved ones close to me during this illness, that we might support each other, and that Your great hands might support us all. I pray that from now on, whether sick or well, I will live each day as if it were eternal, and trust my eternity to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer of Forgiveness: Receive a New Life

Prayer of Forgiveness: Receive a New Life
The prayer of forgiveness gives us a new hope and a new beginning. All our sins are wiped away by God. “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” (Hebrews 8:12).

If you understand that you are a sinner, and you believe that Jesus Christ came as the one and only Redeemer of sin, then you understand the prayer of forgiveness. The question is – are you ready to implement the prayer, by receiving God’s gift of His Son, Jesus Christ? If so, believe in Christ, repent of your sins, and commit the rest of your life to Him as Lord:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

Prayer for Humble Reliance Upon God

Lord, if you withdraw your hand, there is no grace.

If you cease to guide us, we have no wisdom.

If you no longer defend us, we have no courage.

If you do not strengthen us, our chastity is vulnerable.

If you do not keep a holy watch over us, our watchfulness cannot protect us.

By ourselves we sink, we perish; when you are with us, we are uplifted, we live.

We are shaky, you make us firm.

We are lukewarm, you inflame us.

Amen

Prayer for God’s People

Father we come to you grieving and mourning on behalf of your people, of which we are a part.
We see that your people are weak, divided and confused.
They are held in contempt by those who are not your people.
We grieve to see your name dishonored on account of us.
We grieve because the body of your Son is broken by the disagreements and lack of brotherly love among those who bear your name.

We grieve because false teaching abounds and because many of your children have been caused to stumble, and many others are weak and many don’t know their right hand from their left.

We grieve because in many places around us wicked men rule and oppress your people, speaking falsely against them, killing some of our brothers and sisters and persecuting many others.

We know these evils have come upon us not only because of the malice of your Enemy – for he can do nothing unless you allow it, but because of the sin of your people.

Lord have mercy upon us, and pardon our sin for it is great.

Amen! Lord have mercy.

Lord, unite your people in brotherly love and in your truth, that the body of your Son may be whole again.

Amen! Lord have mercy.

Lord, punish the enemies of your people and expose their plots, bring to repentance your sons and daughters who have erred, strengthen the weak, and enlighten those who are confused, that they may discern the way of truth and reject the deceits of Satan.

Amen! Lord have mercy.

Lord, encourage and strengthen by the presence of your Spirit all who are suffering for their faithfulness to you. May they bless those who curse them, love those who hate them, and forgive those who harm them, as your Son sought forgiveness for those who killed him.
May their persecutors be converted like the centurion at the cross and like Saul of Tarsus.

Amen! Lord have mercy.

Lord, restore your people, for the sake of your great name.
May your people be without spot or blemish, and ready for your return!

Amen! Come Lord Jesus!
